Dollarz well spent!

So I was reading Big Wall's LiveJournal post and it got me to thinking...
"If I could, I would pay off their house for them. No questions, no problems, no payback."

So then it got me to thinking about a more general question:

What's a really good way to spend a million dollars?

I mean, what if there happens to be a million dollars out there, that belongs to you, but you're not allowed to spend it on yourself? What is a really good way to spend it?
I'll start the list:
  • Pay off the mortgages of all my friends
  • Start RESP's for all my honourary nieces and nephews (Izzy, Gemma, Andraya, Alex, Amanda, etc.)
  • Build/Purchase & renovate a theatre space for the promotion of smaller theatre companies
  • Pay off other people's student loans
  • Give it to Pamela to start the Comedy Arts Festival again

How would you spend a million dollars?

Thingz... To Do!

So at long last I have posted my list of 101 Things to do in 1001 Days.
Good for me!

Please bear with the girl who is still trying to remember the HTML. My list is linked on the sidebar. Feel free to read it... and if you don't understand something, you can ask me about it. And if I don't want to tell you about it, I'll make something up!

Happy listing!

Samurai-ze!!

I am a HUGE fan of foreign films! I don't know... maybe I just have a thing for subtitles or something. So WorstNinja, Dr. Teeth, the ScottyBomb and I watched "Seven Samurai" last night. A wonderful epic, and it had that marvelous "Lord of the Rings" effect (of being a 3 hour movie that feels about 45 minutes long).

The acting was great, the over-acting was wonderful and the comic relief was perfect. Of course, we couldn't help having our own MST3K moments every now and then:

The scene: early morning

A samurai has just returned to the village after being gone all night. He has stolen into enemy camp in an attempt to take one of the three guns owned by the bandits.

As the samurai runs up the path to the village gate, gun in one hand, sword in the other:

Ninja: Sorry guys, I had to leave one behind! I only have two hands!

So there was much enjoyment of that movie!

Then we played "Settlers of Catan"

My settlements were named Myopia.

It was a great night!

House of Cardz

Ever built a house of cards? Really high?
Ever watched it crash spectacularly to the ground?

Welcome to my world.

I am foolishly trying to get settled into a new house, rehearse a show, and cover someone else's job and my own at work. I'm a little bit on the stressed side.

I'm tired of living out of boxes. I'm not too fond of the half-finished "renovations" all over the house. I'm exhausted sitting through rehearsal. And I'm sick of not getting my work done because I'm doing someone else's.

I was advised last night by someone very wise, "Get some alcohol and some ice cream. Combine and drown troubles." (This statement is very paraphrased.)

Next time... I don't think I'll use cards. And maybe I'll try to do fewer things at once.
